Lest We Forget

On 11 November, our whole school community came together in the hall for our annual Remembrance Day Service.

At 11am, pupils and staff joined in a two-minute silence, showing respect and gratitude for all those who have served and sacrificed for others.

Our Faith Group played an important role in leading our reflections this year. They created two beautiful poppy wreaths as a symbol of remembrance. One wreath now hangs proudly in our school hall, where everyone can see it each day. The second was placed outside the school, so that passers-by also know that St George’s remembers them.

This moment of unity and gratitude ties closely to our school vision:

Be brave. Be great. Be you.

We spoke together about the bravery of those who served, the importance of standing up for what is right, and how we can show courage and kindness in our own lives.

We are incredibly proud of the maturity, respect and reflection shown by all pupils during the service.

Lest we forget.
