Golden Glory for Year 5/6 Basketball Stars at Lewisham School Games

Our year 5/6 mixed basketball team achieved Gold in the Lewisham School Games Basketball tournament.

Our Year 5/6 mixed basketball team delivered an unforgettable performance at the Lewisham School Games Basketball Competition on Monday 17th November, hosted at Bonus Pastor College. From the very first whistle, the team embodied our PE values:

Be passionate.

Be respectful.

Be determined.

The tournament began with a round-robin format, giving every team the chance to play multiple matches. Our players showed tremendous teamwork, focus, and resilience, going from strength to strength with each game. Their determination paid off—they won their entire group, earning a well-deserved place in the knockout stages.

With confidence high and teamwork at its best, the team powered through the quarter-finals and semi-finals, securing win after win. Their passion and respect for the game—and for each other—were clear to everyone watching.

Then came the final. Under pressure, and with the gold medal at stake, the team rose to the challenge once again. With skilful play, sharp defending, and incredible determination, they sealed a fantastic victory, taking 1st place and earning the gold medal.

This remarkable achievement means our Year 5/6 team will now go on to represent Lewisham in the London School Games—a truly outstanding honour.

We are immensely proud of every player. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to our values shine through in everything they do.

What an incredible achievement—well done, team!
