The group was delighted to attend this ever-growing event, with more pupils than ever before representing the school. The experience offered a unique opportunity for the children to cross the iconic TCS London Marathon finish line and receive a medal — a moment that made them feel like true athletes meeting our calls to action in our curriculum vision statement for PE:

Be passionate. 

Be respectful. 

Be determined. 

Starting at Horse Guards Parade, the young runners completed a scenic one-mile route around St James’s Park. Along the way, they passed the world-famous Buckingham Palace before finishing on The Mall, cheered on by enthusiastic crowds.

It was wonderful to see so many parents supporting the event, whether by cheering from the sidelines or even joining in the run alongside their children. Their presence helped create an incredible atmosphere and strengthened the sense of community that makes St George’s so special. This really shows our school values of 'We are fun. We are together!"

Every child received a medal at the finish line — a well-earned reward and a lasting memento of a fantastic achievement. This year, the group ran in Wave 40 alongside 586 runners, adding to the excitement of the day.

Special thanks go to Miss Michell and Miss MacAlpine for leading the group and ensuring such a successful and enjoyable experience, as well as to all the parents who contributed to the vibrant and supportive environment.

We now look forward to seeing all Key Stage 2 pupils take part in the in-school TCS Mini Marathon later this week, continuing the spirit of participation and achievement.
