Let Your Light Shine: Year 3’s Lantern Adventure

Year 3 pupils recently enjoyed a special visit to Holy Trinity Church, where they took part in a meaningful and creative lantern workshop.
During the visit, the children listened carefully to a story about Jesus being the Light of the World. They learnt how light is an important symbol in Christianity, representing hope, guidance, and goodness. The story helped the pupils reflect on how they can bring light into the lives of others through kindness and positive actions.
Following the story, the children enthusiastically decorated their own lanterns. Using a variety of materials, they created colourful and unique designs, each representing light and positivity in their own way.
The workshop concluded with the group coming together to sing songs, celebrating what they had learnt in a joyful and uplifting atmosphere. The church was filled with music, laughter, and the warm glow of the lanterns the children had made.
The visit was a wonderful opportunity for Year 3 to learn more about Christian beliefs while expressing their creativity and working together. It was a memorable experience that the pupils will carry with them as they continue their learning journey.
