Be Brave Day 2026

Another inspiring Be Brave Day!
On Friday, we celebrated our annual Be Brave Day, a special event linked to our school vision:
Be brave. Be great. Be you.
Be Brave Day is an opportunity for pupils to explore what bravery means by learning about historical and contemporary figures who have demonstrated courage, resilience, and determination. Throughout the day, children reflected on how these individuals inspire us to live out our own calls to action in everyday life.
It was fantastic to see so many pupils arrive in school dressed as inspiring figures, each with a story of bravery to share. The creativity and thought behind the costumes were outstanding, and classrooms were filled with meaningful discussions about what it means to stand up for what is right.
We were especially impressed to see political activists such as Martin Luther King Jr. represented, alongside pioneers like Emmeline Pankhurst, who fought for equality and change. Many pupils also chose to celebrate everyday bravery through representations of the emergency services and healthcare workers, recognising the courage shown in keeping our communities safe and supported.
Even members of staff joined in the spirit of the day, with Mr Janes taking on the role of Henry V, complete with crown, helping pupils to explore historical leadership and bravery in action.
Be Brave Day continues to be a powerful reminder of what our school values look like in practice. It was inspiring to see pupils across all year groups engaging so thoughtfully with the idea that bravery can be found in many different forms—and that it is something we can all show in our own lives.
