Mini Minds, Major Success!

Year 6 entrepreneurs turn brilliant ideas into booming businesses.

The halls of St George's were buzzing with excitement this week as our Year 6 pupils transformed into young entrepreneurs for their exciting Mini-Enterprise Project.

Working in teams, the children designed and launched their very own businesses, taking responsibility for every stage of the process. From choosing products and creating eye-catching logos to planning costs and advertising their businesses, they experienced what it is really like to run a company.

Before opening for business, each team carried out market research across the school to discover which products would be the most popular with customers. They carefully analysed the results before making important business decisions about what to sell.

Over the past three days, the Year 6 marketplace has been packed with eager customers. There was something for everyone, including refreshing ice lollies, delicious brookies, colourful slime, handmade bracelets, marshmallow popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, creamy milkshakes, beautifully decorated cupcakes, tasty pancakes, and many more creative treats and products.

The project wasn't just about selling—it was about developing real-life skills. The children managed their own budgets, calculated costs, handled money responsibly, kept accurate financial records and worked out their profits. Along the way, they demonstrated fantastic teamwork, communication, problem-solving and resilience as they adapted to customer demand and made business decisions.

The enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity shown by every team impressed both staff and pupils alike. It was wonderful to see the children applying their maths, English and enterprise skills in such a meaningful and enjoyable way.

A huge well done to all of our Year 6 entrepreneurs for making the Mini-Enterprise Project such a fantastic success. They should be incredibly proud of everything they have achieved—and who knows, perhaps we have some future business leaders in our classrooms!

They have achieved this through the school vision:

Be Brave. Be Great. Be You.
