In year 5, we have been creating prints with overlays.
Our art topic this term is Printmaking. We have been looking at the artist Andy Warhol and pop art. To begin, we created a design on a polystyrene tile focusing on a leaf shape. We used pencils on the tile to create the pattern.
Once completed, we added ink using a roller. When the ink was applied, we printed multiple prints linking back to Warhol's designs.
We then continued with overlaying, which is a continuation of last term's learning. Once the ink was dry, we added another ink layer of red and then blue. This fits in with our art vision:
Be creative. Be proficient. Be reflective.
Next, we will be evaluating our prints by ordering them with our favourites as number one, and explaining what we like and what worked well.
