Creative Collaging!
In Year 1, Jemison we have been creating colourful collages inspired by Paul Klee.
Our vision for Art is:
Be Creative
Be Proficient
Be Reflective
First, we looked at some of Paul Klee’s art involving squares and triangles to make the shape of houses. We considered the foreground and the background of a composition and learned vocabulary to describe brightness of colour such as dull and dazzling. After cutting out many squares from tissue paper and sugar paper, each child collaged the background of their picture. Then, they make the foreground of houses from newspaper and printed sheet music.
Jemison class were reflective as they considered how their work linked to Paul Klee’s and enjoyed being creative with different textures of paper. Please take a look at some of our amazing artwork!
