TCS Mini Marathon 2024

On Saturday 20th April, 20 pupils represented St George's in London's TCS Mini Marathon.

With the sun shining, it was that time of year again, when students from Key Stage 2 pushed themselves in London's Mini Marathon.

The event, which was held at London's famous St James' Park, saw more than 600,000 competitors come from all over the United Kingdom to take part in this famous run. All 20 students from St George's were excellent ambassadors for the school and met our P.E values brilliantly.

Be passionate.

Be respectful.

Be determined.

To begin with, we got the train and tube to Westminster and then took the short walk to Horse Guards Parade. Here children got to see the famous guards and their horses.

We then went through where the children got ready for the run.

The excitement continued to build ...

We then set off on the one-mile run around St James' Park, running past the impressive Buckingham Palace. Along the route there was incredible support from the public, but the loudest were our incredible parents, who came along to cheer St George's on!

Huge congratulations to all our runners! They each got a Finishers Medal after crossing the famous finish line on the Mall, where the London Marathon also finishes.

We would like to thank the organisers of the TCS Mini Marathon for a fantastic event! We would also like to thank Miss Michell and Aiden as well as the parent volunteers, who could make this possible for so many children.

We look forward to next year, when we will compete again. Who will be the St George's runners?
