Year 4 Get Milking Down At The Farm!

Last week, Tull class had the opportunity to visit our local woodland farm at Shooters Hill. They were able to see many farm animals as we had a tour around.

Tull class had a great time at woodlands farm last week. They were able to learn, explore and discuss many different ideas with our tour leader and farm expert. We took 2 busses to get to the farm and we all felt very fun and together on our journey.

Once we arrived, we were able to leave our belongings in a safe educational centre and then had a long tour around the farm. We first took a stop at Ben the pony. After, we went into the barn to look at the different types of lambs and pigs. Then, children had the opportunity to feel and talk about the chickens. We also had the chance to milk the farms very own paper-cow. Children had a feel of how it may be like to milk an actual cow which they were super happy about doing! Furthermore, pupils had a chance to look at the adult and baby sheep in a separate barn. Finally, our leader was able to bring in two guinea pigs for the pupils to stroke.

This trip really demonstrated and embraced the sense of community we have and also linked great with science and the learning of animals.

Be academic, Be curious, Be practical.

Take a look at these amazing pictures to see how we go on!
