Beautiful Butterflies and Fantastic Flowers!

Our topic 'Ground, air and water' continues in Macmillan nursery class.

Nursery class have loved having their very own caterpillars to look after as part of our topic work, and they loved the butterflies that they became even more! The children have learnt all about the life-cycle of the butterfly and have also been very creative, making their very own model caterpillars and printed symmetrical butterflies. The story of 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' has become a firm favourite!

The children have also been thinking about how important flowers are, not just for us to look at, but for the well-being of the butterflies, caterpillars and other minibeasts. Take a look at the fantastic flowers they created and also the flower planting in our outdoor area. The children are very enthusiastic gardeners, just like Lulu in our book 'Lulu loves flowers'.

Nursery class have been very busy living up to our Early Years vision -

Be an explorer. Be a trier. Be a talker. Be a creator.
