Art Attack!

Jemison class have been working on their painting skills and working in the style of 'Piet Mondrian.'

Our Art curriculum vision statement at St George's is:

Be creative.

Be proficient.

Be reflective.

Working on A3 paper, pupils were asked to apply paint using a single curved brushstroke in the shape of a large ‘C’. Start with the yellow, then red, then blue.

Pupils learnt how to rinse their brushes in between each colour, how to hold a paintbrush properly and how to apply the 'dip, dip, dap' method. They made different marks of circles, dots, short strokes.

Year 1 will soon be professional artists!
